Zeiterfassung: Translation Kit
„Translation Kit“ is a utility for translators; it allows updating the Time Recording app texts.
CAUTION: This feature will be removed again at some point, as it is using legacy Android API functionality obsolete since Android 13.
1. Download base file
Download one of the „strings.xml“ file from our server: https://dynamicg.ch/pub/i18n
• If you want to start from scratch, then use the English master file:
master/values-en
• If you want to change texts for an already provided language, then look into the „translations“ folder,
e.g. „translations/values-pt“ for Portuguese.
• Naming convention of folders in „translations“ is „values - two letter language iso code“
2. Add your changes
Edit the file downloaded in step 1, then upload it to your Google Drive.
3. Navigate to „Translation Kit“ and import the file
• Note the new main screen menu icon after successful import; this is a shortcut to this screen.
Use this to import revised versions of your file.
• Caution: when updating a file in Google Drive, it can take up to one minute before that new version is available to the „Import file“ function;
You'll get a warning message if the imported file is identical to the previously imported version.
