Time Recording: Time rounding on «Punch now»

• This feature applies to “Check in now”, “Check out now” and “Switch task”.
• By default, when performing either of these three punch actions, Time Recording creates a timestamp using the current hours and minutes portion and ignoring the seconds portion (which essentially is the same time as what you see in the Android notification bar on top of your screen).
• “Time rounding on «Punch now»” can make the app round this time to the nearest “multiple of X” minutes, where “X” can be set to either of 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60.
• It has three rounding modes: “Round up”, “Round down”, and “Round” (which rounds up or down to the nearest value using mode “round half up”).

Example with “Round to 5 minutes”:
• “Check in now” at 08:44 is rounded down to 08:40.
• “Check out now” at 11:41 is rounded up to 11:45.
• “Switch task” is not enabled, therefore it keeps the original time.

More remarks:
• Existing timestamp entries remain unchanged regardless of how this feature is configured; it only impacts new “punch now” entries.
• The app only stores the “final” punch time value. There is no way to obtain the original punch time once these rounding options have been enabled and applied to new entries.
• If “Check in now” is rounded up then you'll essentially create “future check-ins”. This leads to app behaviour that some users find strange.
Example: you check in at 08:41, the app creates the check-in timestamp at 08:45; from 08:41 and 08:44 you are therefore not checked-in yet, and the app shows this accordingly as “checked out” (e.g. in the Widgets). Only at 08:45 the app will then change its status to “Checked in”. Similarly, “Check out now / Round up” will keep you checked-in until the “future check-out” time is reached.
Hint: avoid this by using “Round down” for all enabled actions.
• The “Switch task” rule only applies to “switch from one work unit to another work unit” events. If you use “Switch task” to perform first check-in in the morning, or to restart work after breaks, then the “Check in now” rule is applied.
• Mode “Round up to next single minute” is not supported as of now, due to technical reasons (we strip the “seconds” portion of timestamps before this rounding feature is evaluated).
